Our terms and conditions keep our insurance company happy and your pets safe during their time at Paws! then play. You will be required to sign a copy of these terms and conditions at your first grooming appointment as well as fill out a new clients form. We have added a copy to our website for you to view at your leisure.
PLEASE READ THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE CAREFULLY BEFORE USING OUR SERVICES
By using this website, you signify your acceptance of these terms and conditions of use. For the purposes of terms and conditions, “Us”, “Our” and “We” refers to Paws! then play and “You” and “Your” refers to you, the client, visitor, service recipient or person using our services.
Amendment of terms
We reserve the right to change, modify, add or remove portions of these terms at any time. Please check these terms regularly prior to using our website to ensure you are aware of any changes. We will endeavour to highlight any significant or substantive changes to you where possible. If you choose to use our services then we will regard that use as conclusive evidence of your agreement and acceptance that these terms govern your and Paws! then play's rights and obligations to each other.
Limitation of liability
It is an essential pre-condition to you using our services that you agree and accept that Paws! then play is not legally responsible for any loss or damage you might suffer related to your use of our services, whether from errors or from omissions in our documents or information, any goods or services we may offer or from any other use of our services. This includes your use or reliance on any third party content, links, comments or advertisements. Your use of, or reliance on, any information or materials of our services is entirely at your own risk, for which we shall not be liable.
It shall be your own responsibility to ensure that any products, services or information available through this us meet your specific, personal requirements. You acknowledge that such information and materials may contain inaccuracies or errors and we expressly exclude liability for any such inaccuracies or errors to the fullest extent permitted by law.
You may change your details at any time by advising us in writing via email. All information we receive from our customers, is protected by our secure servers. Paws! then play's secure server software encrypts all customer information before it is sent to us. Furthermore, all of the customer data Paws! then play collects is secured against unauthorised use or access. Credit card information is not stored by us on our servers.
Paws! then play does not and will not sell or deal in personal or customer information. We may however use in a general sense without any reference to your name, your information to create marketing statistics, identify user demands and to assist it in meeting customer needs generally. In addition, we may use the information that you provide to improve its website and its services but not for any other use.
Disclose your information
Paws! then play may be required, in certain circumstances, to disclose information in good faith and where Paws! then play is required to do so in the following circumstances: by law or by any court; to enforce the terms of any of our customer agreements; or to protect the rights, property or safety of our customers or third parties.
Exclusion of competitors
If you are in the business of creating similar documents, goods or services for the purpose of providing them for a fee to users, whether they be business users or domestic users, then you are a competitor of Paws! then play. Paws! then play expressly excludes and does not permit you to use or access our website, to download any documents or information from its website or obtain any such documents or information through a third party. If you breach this term then Paws! then play will hold you fully responsible for any loss that we may sustain and further hold you accountable for all profits that you might make from such unpermitted and improper use. Paws! then play reserves the right to exclude and deny any person access to our website, services or information in our sole discretion.
Copyright, trademark and restrictions of use
Our services contain material which is owned by or licensed to us. This material includes, but is not limited to, the design, layout, look, appearance, trademarks and graphics. You are not permitted to reproduce the documents, information or materials of our services for the purposes of sale or the use by any third party. In particular you are not permitted to republish, upload, transmit electronically or otherwise or distribute any of the materials, documents or products that may be available for download.
Paws! then play expressly reserves all copyright and trademark in all documents, information and materials on our website and we reserve the right to take action against you if you breach any of these terms.
Any redistribution or reproduction of part or all of the contents in any form is prohibited other than the following: you may print or download to a local hard disk extracts for your personal and non-commercial use only; and you may copy the content to individual third parties for their personal use, but only if you acknowledge the website as the source of the material. You may not, except with our express written permission, distribute or commercially exploit the content. Nor may you transmit it or store it in any other website or other form of electronic retrieval system.
These terms and conditions represent the whole agreement between you and Paws! then play concerning your use and access to Paws! then play services and your use and access to the documents and information on it. No other term is to be included in this agreement except where it is required to be included by any legislation of the Commonwealth or any State or Territory. All implied terms except those implied by statute and which cannot be expressly excluded are hereby expressly excluded.
Exclusion of unenforceable terms
Where any clause or term above would by any applicable statute be illegal, void, or unenforceable in any State or Territory then such a clause shall not apply in that State or Territory and shall be deemed never to have been included in these terms and conditions in that State or Territory. Such a clause if legal and enforceable in any other State or Territory shall continue to be fully enforceable and part of this agreement in those other States and Territories. The deemed exclusion of any term pursuant to this paragraph shall not affect or modify the full enforceability and construction of the other clauses of these terms and conditions.
We appreciate and expect your honesty about your pet’s behaviour. Pets with behavioural issues will be charged at a higher rate due to the risk of working with them. Our aim is always to help pets through these issues, so they feel more comfortable with the grooming process - after all, we want your pet to be happy much as you do.
It is strongly recommended that pets with behavioural issues should be placed on a 4 – 6 week schedule in order to build their confidence in the salon. If you choose not to maintain a regular grooming schedule and your pets behavioural issues deteriorate we will unfortunately have to decline your booking for the safety of the other animals in the salon and our groomers – consistency is the key.
Consent for photographs
We love to take photos of all our work and by agreeing to these terms and conditions, you are providing your consent for us to use your pets photos on our social media and for photos around the salon. If you do not wish this to occur, please let us know when you come in.
A cancellation fee will applicable if you do not provide a cancellation notice. A cancellation notice is only accepted 24hrs prior to your drop off time (8am or 12:45pm). This fee is comprised of a 50% levy of your original booking. This fee will be applied to your next appointment.
While we understand life is busy and unforeseen circumstances can arise, we appreciate your cooperation in providing us with as much notice as possible.
No show policy
A ‘no show’ fee is applicable if you do not provide a cancellation notice and do not attend your appointment. We will attempt to contact you 30mins after your allocated drop off time. ‘No shows’ will be required to pay the cancellation fee plus a non refundable 50% deposit to receive another appointment. However this 50% will come off the total bill of your appointment.
Late pick up fee
We have two pickup and drop off times:
8:00am - 12:15/30pm (morning slot)
12:45pm – 5:15/30pm (afternoon slot)
Please ensure you are here to collect your pet(s) at 12:15pm or 5:15pm. Please do not turn up early unless you have received a call or text from your groomer. If you turn up early you many excite your pet which will increase the difficulty for the groomer. The groomer may end the groom early and you will still be charged full price – an excited pet is a recipe for disaster.
If you are late picking up your pet(s) there will be a $15 fee applicable for every 20 minutes they remain uncollected. The first late fee will be charged after the end of your pickup window, with the next late fee being charged 20 minutes later so on so forth.
If you are booked in a morning slot and your pet needs to “over stay their appointment”, a $35 flat fee is charged for the day. Pickup will then be 5:15pm – 5:30pm. However please discuss this when booking or when dropping your pet off. Please keep in mind we are a small salon and this will be subject to availability.
Fleas, worming and vaccinations
Please keep your pet up to date with their correct parasite treatments and vaccinations. It is your responsibility as an owner to ensure your pet is up to date with treatment for fleas and worming as well as up to date with yearly vaccinations administered by your vet. Vaccinating your pet will protect it from viruses spread between animals. If you fail to keep your pet vaccinated and protected, and your pet becomes ill, you will not hold “Paws! then play” liable. Even though we make every attempt to keep the salon spick and spam, we are a high traffic location for pets.
If your pet is on a regular flea and worming schedule, it will be protected against fleas and worms it comes into contact with. It is your responsibility to ensure that your pet is up to date and protected.
If your pet has fleas – whether you are aware or not, a $30 flea fee will be applicable. This includes the administration of a capstar tablet and your dog will receive a soothing flea bath – this is non-negotiable if you choose leave your pet at our salon as we aim to keep it flea free.
Ear plucking keeps your dogs ear canal clear and reduces the chance of infection, we only pluck at the owners
request. If your pet is receiving bathing as part of its groom, we take precautions to prevent water from entering the
ear canal. However sometimes water may enter the ear canal. The potential for this to cause harm is minimal,
however if your pet develops an ear infection post grooming, it may be due to underlying/unseen bacteria and or
infection already present prior to entering the salon. Therefore you will not hold Paws! then play accountable for any
ear infections post your pets groom.
Before every groom, your pet will be assessed for matting, and you will have to re-sign our matting policy prior tocommencing work if your pet has noticeable matting.
Pets need regular grooming, if you fail to keep a regular grooming schedule your dog will become matted due to lack of brushing or clipping which keeps the coat short. There will be a fee of $10 - $50 charged depending on the severity of the matting and the extra time it takes to remove the matted coat. If your pet sustains and injury during the groom where the groomer is clipping off the matted coat, you will not hold “Paws! then play” liable for any vet bills associated with the removal of the matted coat – please keep in mind you as the owner have requested us “Paws! then play” to remove the coat. Matting increases the chance of the fur and skin being gathered up into the clipper blade and a cut or “nick” occurring. There is also a chance of bruising occurring to the skin from how tightly the matted hair was pulling, this may be visible once your groomer clips the coat. If a vet is required, and “Paws! then play” needs to take your pet to a vet on your behalf, you will be required to pay the vet bill on pickup. We will also contact you at the earliest opportunity. We will not request the administration of pain relief, we will only treat the injury and provide you with an invoice from the vet – it is your choice to provide your pet with further care.
Pets with heavy matting are clipped SHORT this includes a #10 all over the body, face, tail and ears. We understand this may not be your preferred groom however to remove matting by brushing is very painful for your pet and we operate under the phrase “humanity before vanity”. This means we will always do what is kindest for your pet. By agreeing to this you understand that we have the best interests for your pet in mind, even though it may not be the groom you want at the time.
Matted ears and tails may be dematted at the groomer’s discretion - Please note while all care is taken, Dematting can cause irritation and bruising as we work on getting the matts out, this is superficial and will not cause harm to your pet. Bruising will disappear between 1-48hrs. A discussion will take place when you drop your pet into the salon – the cost of this is $15 every 10 minutes spent working on your pets matted coat. If the groomer deems the coat is too matted to dematt without pain and discomfort, these area will be clipped short with a #10 and we can discuss a regular grooming schedule to prevent this from happening in the future. Your pet requires a regular grooming schedule to stay happy!
